Are we ever gonna race again?

Well 3 weeks of rain have brought us down a bit. Now the weathermen are saying more rain this friday. Will it ever stop? But then again the forcasters are some of the only people that i can think of that get paid to "get it rite" once in a while. Heres to hoping that they are wrong once again! Hope to see ya at the track without the swimfins and snorkles. Till then.....

Raining ...Again

Well at least we made it to the track this week. We had the car ready, got it around back for our first practice (after a few rain delays) and then......NOTHING! The car would not stay running. After adding 5 gallons of fuel it fired and finally got back to our pit stall. Apart comes the fuel cell where we find a crimped fuel pickup. After a quick switch the fuel cell is back together.Problem solved......or is it? NO! Into the engine we go. Still having problems....then Billy the kid says to try something. The carb had a small problem! Bob-o and Rz have it mostly set when billy was able to get to the car. After a few checks of the carb and the timing on the car, it is finally ready to go out on the track. Just in time to see our division coming OFF the track for final practice. Murphys Law strikes again! After the drivers meeting (and a few more rain delays) the track announces that All the dare stocks will make the show but they were needed to help dry the track. Then the SK lights go out to qualify. I dont really know what happened with them but it took forever and I saw 5 wrecked cars come off the track. More rain..... Late models heats are called, first heat is over and second is on the track. The third heat is staged in the back. We were next in the first heat ( yes we actually had 18 cars in the division and were going to have 2 heats) then the skys opened up and the track cancelled the rest of the show....well guess we just try again next week. So till then ....you know the drill.

Heres to wondering what the sun looks like again! Hope to see ya on friday

Not Again...

Yep you guessed it...SMASH. After last weekend we thought our bad luck was over. Well guess again. In the heat we had a minor problem with the throttle. a plate that attaches the pedal to the throttle was bent which kept the engine wide open. Mike noticed it, pulled in and we got it fixed. No biggie right? Wrong! Because we didnt finish the heat we were moved to the rear of the fieldwhere the #30 car was. Lap 1 (well almost 2) he loses it coming out of 4 and spins... rite in front of mike, who had nowhere to go. So scratch 1 bumper cover, possibly 1 radiator, All the work done in the front from last week, and the teams sanity too! Mike is fine, but really pissed!
I forgot to bring the camera so no pictures this week(sorry my bad). Well guess we just put her back together and try again next friday. Till then....

"Tis but a flesh wound..."

Well looks can be decieving....I didnt think the car would be ready but...the damage is not as bad as I thought and the car is already being mended. Here is what it looked like before and after the wreck. Oh and by the way Welcome to the sponsorship team Hamm Welding! Sorry your decal doesnt look as nice as it did but at least we didnt have to call ya for this fix...The team pulled together for this one to be sure, but I can only talk about what I saw. From when I got there on monday morning this is what I saw...Bobbo, great work on the patches and all the fabrication work ya did...RZ, Great job getting a rear-end into the car to be able to get it to the chassie shop.... Tressa (guessing on the spelling Sorry), See we told you that you could fix that pannel...and me , well...walked on some pannels but basically was along for the ride as usual.
Special thanks to Bill Davis of the 31 car for the rear and control arms, Geo and Mike, I know you guys did alot but I wasnt there when you were. I also want to thank Matt, John,Drew and Steve for all the help this weekend before and after the incident.
Well on to this weekend... Lets see which drivers have learned from the wreck fest that last weekend seemed to be. Cant wait to see the tape of the opener so we can figure out exactly what happened. We are sure that our problem started out as a simple racing accident. But from there on....Im not gonna comment on until I see the tape.
On the way back from the track I asked RZ what our chances were to be ready for friday. His answer was 75% chance... From what Ive been hearing ...Im gonna say 90% as of rite now. I know of a few possible problems but I also know that the guys are scrambling to get the 06 ready for friday.Soooo...Til then (unless more news comes up) catch ya at the track! leave a comment if ya want to. Hopefully the site wont give me as many problems checking comments as it did while trying to get this post up!

The Driver is Ok

Well as all of you know last weekend was our first race - the 06 car looked great out there for practice, heats and qualifying. So here we go ready to go racing and the 06 looks great on the track. The start of the race and the car looks a little loose and as the race went on that Billy The Kid Motor looked better and better. By lap 15 we were up to the fourth spot. On Lap 19 we had a little mishap and the car is now a complete mess. But the driver is ok - the car can be fixed and we hope to be out there and back up in the top of the pack next week. Come check us out at Stafford.
