A first look

As promised here are pics of the drivers....Driving the Trackside Motors #31...Ed Lofland ( pronounced Lof-land not La flande as the announcers at the track call him) And the Driver of the Shoptech #06...Bill Davis.
Now to last night...The 31 started in seventh place and was running well ...Until.... Motor problems with 2 to go. Ed was able to limp home with a solid eighth place finish which in turn moved him into the Ninth position in the points standings!
And then there was Billy...I can tell you that the first 3 laps were a joy to watch as the 06 weaved in, out and around traffic to climb from eighth at the start to third. Then on the restart from a caution, something seemed different. Bill wasn't "snugging up" on restarts and didn't seem to be driving as hard. As a crew, the mood was ok what now??? What did we screw up now? Bill ended up finishing fifth. We were all pretty pissed when Billy got out of the car with a HUGE smile on his face until... George asked him why are you so happy ? Billys reply...." It was a great run considering we LOST THE BRAKES on the THIRD LAP!!! Oh how the mood changed! Great job Billy a 5 finish...no breaks .....no body work .....WOW is all I can say! With that finish we lost 4 points from our lead but are still the points leader by 6 with 10 races to go. Its gonna be a long couple of months waiting to see how this plays out!
Well thats all for now. Till next week....

Its been a while....

Ok, its been a while since I put a pic of the car on the site so....Here's what it looks like now. I will try to get a picture with both Billy and Ed by their respective cars.
Now on to last week. To make a long story short, the 31 started on the pole, had some tire pressure issues ( we think) and finished seventh. With that finish Ed has moved into tenth on the points list. Way to go Ed! Billy started the 06 in sixth place (hmmm coincidence?) and got the car to its first podium finish of the year! With his second place finish, Bill was able to extend his point lead from 4 to 10 points! Unfortunately the 43 is starting to breathe down our neck since he has climbed into second in the points chase. I still want to know how he is sooo fast?!?
Sorry its taking me so long to post but I have a new job and am trying to get used to working third shift again. Oh yeah I've been told that some comments have been left on the site but for some reason they don't appear on my computer. I have tried to change some of the settings to see if that will fix the problem but...ya never know.
Well thats all for now...I'm off to try and get some sleep. Till next week ( hopefully with a win!).....

I know...

I know that I've been a little lax on the race report...So SORRY!
Here we go... On the fourth we ran 2 features. In the first one the 06 finished sixth and the 31 ended up eleventh. Oh wait, that's rite, the 87 got disqualified so we finished fifth and tenth respectively. In the second race the 31 finished fourth while the 06 finished sixth.....Oh but wait again the 7 car was disqualified....So third for Ed and fifth for Billy! GREAT job Ed!
Now on to tonight...Issues again with the 06.... An early race incident with the 43 where Bill got turned into the front streach wall cost us valuable track position. We thought the night was over....But then...What is this?!? Billy kept going! We ended up with Bill finishing in the seventh spot (and a bit of body work to do) and Ed finishing rite behind us in eighth! All in all not too bad of a night with Billy holding on to the points lead by 4 points!
It was nice to see Mike Young back on the track in the 2 car. Unfortunately it happened because Darrens wife is in the hospital. We hope she gets better soon! And sorry to see Sonny ( owner of the 01 limited) with a foot injury, hope all goes well when he sees the docs later this week.
Others at the track that we haven't seen in a while were Dan Sully ( the reason some of us got into racing) Jim and the crew from Westover AFB! Thanks for all you guys do to keep our country safe! As well as the rest of the usual cast of characters Carolyn, Donna, Di,Grace, Chrissy, Matt, etc...etc...etc...without you we wouldnt be here!
Well thats it for now about the limiteds. Till next week.....

Fireworks = no race

Well as far a s I can tell, the guys from DTR had a long night of waiting just to find out that they were not going to race. After waiting through the fireworks, the late model 100 and then the SK mods, there was just not enough time to get the Limiteds out there before 12. This had to suck for the guys, since I wasn't there I cant tell ya first hand. But as I was waiting to hear how we did, sitting in a little bar in northern Maine and getting pretty buzzed, I could tell that George wasn't too happy. At least Ed will have some time to get the 31 back together before tuesday when we are tenatively scheduled to have a double feature evening. Once again I cant tell you what happened to Ed, But I was told that he had a little help being sent into the wall during the heat race.
Well that's it for now. I am back and will be there tomorrow to help on the cars . Hmmm 2 wins might start a real nice fourth celebration. Till then......
