Its Here...

Fall final weekend! Here's a short list of random thoughts I have about today. The car is back together and running well. Billy seems happy with the slight changes that we have made. The Motor seems real strong. The 31 will be back (driver T.B.A). The sun is out. Its not too cold. Camping and beer with the entire team tonight. Last race of the season, how will I get out now?!? Good luck Ed! His final race is tonight at monadnock due to last weeks rain. Sorry about the colors but i just figured out how to use them and I am having fun doing it! Well I only have about an hour left until I have to head out to the track, sooo... Update will be posted on Monday at the latest...

Still alive but...

Well the emotional rollercoaster that is our season carried on last night. We went from practice 1: Well its loose , to practice 2: OOhh we might have something here, to the Heat: pulling away from the field until a late caution, to the feature. Now in the feature there was a lot of beatin and bangin going on out there. The 87 was pounding us every chance he got..The 23 got into the 16, then the 16 retaliated and the 23 went for a ride... The 22, well, he just hits everyone...The 43 had some battle damage from his run to the top and the 38 is running so hard to try and win the championship that he needs a cowcatcher on the nose of the car! We ran a Real strong race. Starting in the 6 hole running up to second, fading to fourth for most of the race, having a caution come out with 5 to go which gave us the chance to get back into second and then..... On lap 18..... Coming out of turn two..The announcers jinxed us by saying" If the race finished in the order that they are running now, Bill Davis will regain his point lead in the championship hunt"..And then the transmission died. For the first time I saw the look of disappointment on Bill's face. We fell from second place and 14 points down to third and 22 points back. Not impossible to make up with 1 race but the odds are getting stacked against us. RZ , Bobbo and " the Commander" have already started working on the car and we will definitely be ready for this weekend. We are going to give it everything we have to try and win this thing! Well till next week thats all .....

Err..14 down and 2 to go?!?

Well it rained yesterday so the track canceled the race. I'm guessing that means that next Friday will be a double points race. I don't know if thats a good thing or not. Being a double points race it does make the finish MUCH more important. Instead of gaining or losing 2 points for a spot now were talking 4 points. That 14 points could shrink quickly or unfortunately it could grow immensely. Only time will tell.
Oh by the way Congratulations to Georges son Matt and his new bride Christina (hope I spelled it rite). I hope the passing years leave you as happy as you are today!
Well thats all for now...gotta get some sleep before the wedding! till next week

Three and 14

Three weeks to go and 14 points down. After running real tight in the heat (and not making the transfer) we loosened up the 06 for the feature. Bill started fourteenth and managed to come home in seventh. Not our best run but when the 23 came in eighth and we gained 2 points, We will take it. I guess we loosened him up too much but as we all know, "short track racing is just rolling the dice on setup" as some people say ( not sure I believe it though). No sign of Ed again so some possible plans are being made for the 31. That means that the crew will be " double dipping" again.
I'm thinking about doing a team profile...Pictures with a short bio on the team and owners. Let me know what you think. That's all for now so...Till next week

Could have been worse

Ok here's what I saw when we started working on the car... 1 a heat gun works wonders on the left front fender.... 2 A weld here and there ( after heating and bending ) works wonders on the front bumper bar.... 3 a come along might not help a damaged rear bumper bar... And 4 I need to give Andrew Durand (#43 car and I hope I spelled his name rite) back a piece of his hood! We found it on the cross member near the fuel cell! Do not blame him ! He really had no place to go!
So now we need to make a patch or three since I forgot to look at the hood again( really didn't want to either).
The 06 will be ready on Friday so come on down and cheer Billy on!

Boom and gloom

1 Lap....thats all we got was 1 stinking lap when the 30 car got out of shape (with some help we suspect), tried to correct instead of looping it, and rode back into the field which caused a chain reaction of events that ate up our points lead. Now first off the 30, for those of you that remember, was the car that wrecked us in week 2 because of equiptment failure. This time, well, I hate to say it but....lack of driving experience from him was 1 of the major factors. So here's the list of battle damage from Bill's wild ride... 1 left front tire, destroyed... 1 left front fender, possibly repairable but not likely... 1 front bumper cover, torn wide open.... Front bumper bar, jacked up 8 inches or so, fixable.... The Back bar was POUNDED up when the 43 ( I think it was him ) got under us when Bill tried to check up. It is now up a good 6+ inches higher.... And now we have to see what kind of damage there was ( I hope none) to the rear end. So after all that we are still in second place. Only 16 points back with 4 to go. Can it be done? Just look at what happened to us last night. 1 wreck and 3 of the top 5 points cars were done for the night.
Well till next week...And we will be there to try and get our lead back!
