Time Off

Well with the season over for our division, the team has decided to take a little time off....Ok that was long enough! The paint scheme is in the final stages of being chosen. I will not let you know what it is going to look like except to say that there will be our standard hood ( the stars and stripes Shoptech hood). For the rest .....Only time will tell...Or maybe a drunk member of the crew if ya can find one of us! As is the usual I am trying to find something that 1) looks good and 2) really gets the numbers to pop out with 3) not too much work to repair. For those of you that weren't with us back in the day....We had a scheme on the 6 strictly stock that George and I had to "touch up".....Ok well repaint, about 3 times....The car looked great but WAY too much work! Then on to the 28 late model with the "Harvick-esque" scheme Another great looking car but quite a bit of work to keep her pretty.
UP Next for the team: the awards banquet in November. Should be a great time!
Check back in a week or two. I might put something up about the conclusion of "Fall Final Weekend" that happens next week. Till then.....Same ol' same old......

The final weekend...

Well the season is over. We finished 12 points back and in third place in the points. There wasn't much more we could have done to win it since Bill started sixteenth and finished SECOND in the finale! Now the reason we started sixteenth was that we had an electrical problem during the heat race. Well sort of during...We never even took the green flag! After changing the distributor (and putting it back on when we realized the other 1 wouldnt work) , the cap and the coil, a piece of the wiring harness broke. Because of this the car wouldnt stay running. Its kind of tough to race when the motor wont stay fired! But we got that under control and Bill drove the car for all it was worth. The 31 was there and had a guest driver. Dean Cassagrande was nice enough to take it out and try to run her. We are sorry that we could not help with the setup. Ed did all his own setup changes by feel, so we really had no clue how it was set. When we went to tech after the race, the officials wanted to see a piston of all things! So apart came the engine and we passed with flying colors!
So thats the wraps on season two for D.T.R. After two seasons we have gotten a Fifth place finish in the points for season 1 and a third for season two, So what does that mean for next year?!? Only time will tell. Till the Banquet.. With a few random things here and there I'm sure...
