Sizzler weekend

We finally got both cars done Saturday morning! And oh what a weekend it turned out to be! The 06 went out for first practice and promptly managed to pick up a rock, nail or something ,and lose a new tire to a hole. The car came back 4 pounds lower in pressure than when it went out and Still turned a 23.6 second lap! Now the 16 was a different story. Brand new stickers with no heat cycles in the tires and a green track do NOT make life easy on a driver. The way charlie described the car can most easily be termed "EVIL". But after some talking , thinking things out ( is Charlie even listening or awake in this picture?) and a few adjustments, the 16 found a way to stick and make a great story better!
Now on to the feature. Bill started in 9th while charlie started in the 15th spot. after 4 laps Bill had moved all the way up to challenge for the 3 spot, Charlie unfortunately was stuck outside and trying to find a hole to get down but was holding his spot. that's when it started to get interesting. The 14 car got a little help getting loose and got into the right front of the 06. A little damage but not enough to stop Bill (even though we did fall back to 8th place). Great Save Billy! Going into the next lap the 49 got spun and then T-boned. On the restart Bill and Charlie started making up ground. After several more cautions (including 1 wreck on the front stretch after the checkered's had waved) we finished with a 2-3 finish! If the rain had just held off until 10pm or so it would have been an almost PERFECT night! of course perfect would have been a 1-2 finish but I'm just being greedy! I just had to put the scoreboard up because how often do you get both cars on the team on the board at the same time. I hope to see it MANY more times this year but ya never know! Till next week....
